{Magic of the Mundane} Today…

January 2, 2017

{originally written May 31, 2016}

Today was just another day. Nothing “special” happened, nothing out of the ordinary. But…

Today, I got to greet every member of my family as they woke, one by one, and showered them with lots of love to start their days.

Today, we all did our routines together, we cleaned our jurisdictions together, we ate our meals together, we said our gratitudes all together.

Today, we lived & learned & laughed as a family. We also argued, then came together through communication, kindness, & compassion, as a family.

Today, I was able to console & comfort them when they cried. I was able to be an attentive & affectionate mother, and wife, and friend. Today, I was patient. Today, life moved at a slow & steady pace.

Today, I got to work from home, here & there, in stolen moments, in my pajamas, while papa & the kids retreated to their creative corners at the end of a productive day.

Today, I was blessed by someone who reconnected me with my passion & purpose.

Today was just another day. And what a wonderful day it was.

Love this post, thank you for sharing! It is easy to forget to be thankful for those family times. My two boys are grown and I only have my daughter at home most of the time, but this holiday I had all three and these early days in January I am thankful for those dinner times together, the conversations, the time spent together doing our own things, doing small things for the boys like their laundry, or making them a cup of tea……lovely thoughts! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and write such a lovely comment! I truly appreciate you taking the time, Margot. I can imagine how heartwarming it must be to have your boys return home, and have that “music” of a full house again. It really is the little things, isn’t it?
