CSA Share 3:: Recipes

December 8, 2010

I was in such a daze from extreme insomnia (I think it had been like 72 hours at that point), that I actually completely forgot to pick up the veggies! It wasn’t until I got the email from Jodi at the farm that I realized it. Good thing Papa happened to be home that evening, cuz I was in absolutely no shape to drive!

In our “share” this week:

  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Spring Lettuce Mix
  • Baby Lettuce Mix
  • Chard Mix
  • Arrowhead Spinach
  • Japanese Eggplants
  • Cucumbers
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Chives

How good does that lettuce look? I mean, really!!!

And the cherry tomatoes? I usually hate raw tomatoes of any variety, but these?

I literally could eat them like cherries, not exaggeration. They’re that sweet!

CSA Share 3:: Recipes

  • Cucumbers:: Served sliced on the side of whatever

Well, that’s the plan for this week. Stay tuned and see how it all turns out! I love this feeling of accomplishment… my menus are planned, my grocery lists are made, and my coupons are clipped. Meal planning around our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share definitely fits into Sofia’s Ideas on Simplicity, Frugality, and an Eco-Mentality!
